The Chicago Athenaeum and European Centre for Architecture have announced the winners of their 2026 International Architecture Awards, with six Australian projects named as award winners, and two given honourable mentions.<\/p>\n

Sydney-based practice Archer Office received two awards: one in the Sports and Recreation category for the Allan Border Oval Pavilion<\/a> in Mosman Park, and another in the Restoration\/Renovation category for their Boot Factory and Mill Hill Centre Precinct<\/a> (with landscape architect Aspect Studios) at Bondi Junction.<\/p>\n

In the same Restoration\/Renovation category, Terroir picked up an award for their Albert Hall Renewal in Launceston (with landscape architect Rush Wright Associates).<\/p>\n

Two other Sydney projects were recognised. The Corner Store<\/a> by Ian Moore Architects (with landscape architect Outdoor Establishments) won an award in the Private Homes category, while Johnson Pilton Walker\u2019s 33 Alfred Street Revitalisation (with Aspect Studios), which renewed a 1962 building designed by Peddle Thorp and Walker, was recognised in the Skyscrapers\/High Rises category.<\/p>\n

In regional New South Wales, the Baaka Cultural Centre by Kaunitz Yeung Architecture received an award in the Museums and Cultural Buildings category.<\/p>\n

Honourable mentions were given to St. Joseph\u2019s Catholic Primary Schoo<\/a>l by Neeson Murcutt Neille (with landscape architect Sprout Studio) and Rouse Hill Anglican College Senior Studies Building by Terroir (with landscape architect Realm Studios), both in the Schools and Universities category.<\/p>\n
