Recently, observations made by both the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/21925-james-webb-space-telescope-jwst.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/21925-james-webb-space-telescope-jwst.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"astronomy\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/21925-james-webb-space-telescope-jwst.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">James Webb Space Telescope<\/a> and <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/15892-hubble-space-telescope.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/15892-hubble-space-telescope.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"astronomy\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/15892-hubble-space-telescope.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hubble<\/a> were combined in a composite image that shows the incredible nature of the &#8220;Black Eye Galaxy,&#8221; more formally known as Messier 64.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-2d73a830-9a67-11f1-a931-e7c8881af191\"\/>What is it?<\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-2d73a89e-9a67-11f1-8305-5d442804dfc8\">The <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/comet-13p-olbers-m64-black-eye-galaxy-photo-astrophotographer\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/comet-13p-olbers-m64-black-eye-galaxy-photo-astrophotographer\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"astronomy\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/comet-13p-olbers-m64-black-eye-galaxy-photo-astrophotographer\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Black Eye Galaxy<\/a> is a strange spiral galaxy located 17 million light-years from Earth, in the constellation Coma Berenices, a name that means &#8220;Berenice&#8217;s Hair&#8221; in Latin.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-2d73a89e-9a67-11f1-8305-5d442804dfc8-1\">Discovered in 1779, the Black Eye Galaxy is fairly isolated from other galaxies and is known for its hypnotizing &#8220;stare.&#8221; This look is created by the galaxy&#8217;s internal, swirling motion.
