Donald Trump<\/a> and O’Donnell’s contentious relationship began long before he ran for President in 2016, and she has remained one of his most vocal critics in recent years.<\/p>\n“I decided to move, and I took my little, then 11-year-old kid with me. And I just said, ‘Whatever you do, don’t tell anyone because we don’t want a lot of press and a lot of paparazzi,’ she continued.<\/p>\n
“And then they went to school and proceeded to tell their entire class, ‘I’m very sorry. I won’t be able to graduate sixth grade with you. I’m being forced to move to another country because the President of the United States hates my mother. But in all fairness, I believe my mother hates him more.”<\/p>\n
O’Donnell has been vocal about her move to Ireland, first announcing on TikTok that she was residing in Howth, Dublin.<\/p>\n
During a recent guest appearance on the Good Hang\u00a0podcast with Amy Poehler, she expressed that it has been both “very beautiful” and sometimes lonely.<\/p>\n
During the conversation, O’Donnell recalled her visits to Donegal – where her father was from – after her mother died in 1973 at the height of The Troubles.<\/p>\n
“My cousins were in their very late teens, and so they got us into trouble. They would shoot cap guns and try to provoke the British Army,” she said.<\/p>\n
She’s set to continue hosting\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live! all this week, with guests including Jean Smart, Richard Gadd, Charlie Day, Janelle James, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman and Shawn Hatosy.<\/p>\n
