{"id":597343,"date":"2026-08-18T19:40:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T19:40:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/597343\/"},"modified":"2026-08-18T19:40:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T19:40:09","slug":"aaron-wan-bissaka-aston-villa-agree-deal-to-sign-west-ham-defender","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/597343\/","title":{"rendered":"Aaron Wan-Bissaka: Aston Villa agree deal to sign West Ham defender"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/teams\/aston-villa\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aston Villa<\/a> have agreed a deal sign West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The DR Congo right-back will join on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Wan-Bissaka has been given permission to travel for a medical in the Midlands but the exact terms are not known, with the Hammers having previously asked interested clubs to pay a \u00a325m fee. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 28-year-old has missed Championship club West Ham&#8217;s first two matches of the season during negotiations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">West Ham have sold Mateus Fernandes to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/teams\/tottenham-hotspur\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tottenham<\/a> for \u00a385m and Crysencio Summerville for \u00a360m this summer, but captain Jarrod Bowen has signed a new contract.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Villa, meanwhile, have also had a busy summer in the transfer market, most notably selling Morgan Rogers to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/teams\/chelsea\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chelsea<\/a> for \u00a3117m. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">They currently have the lowest net spend in the Premier League, at about \u00a3110m after sales are taken into account.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Despite that, Villa have signed midfielders Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/teams\/chelsea\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chelsea<\/a> winger Alejandro Garnacho on a loan deal with an obligation to buy. They have also added highly rated young centre-back Modou Keba Cisse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Villa begin their Premier League campaign at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/teams\/brighton-and-hove-albion\" class=\"ssrcss-18834jl-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Brighton<\/a> on Sunday (14:00 BST) and will also compete in the Champions League after finishing fourth and winning the Europa League under Unai Emery last season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Aston Villa have agreed a deal sign West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
