ROCHESTER \u2014 Mayo Clinic has hired Arun Kumar Bhaskara-Baba as its new chief information officer, filling a position vacated in late 2024.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Mayo Clinic confirmed that Bhaskara-Baba joined the institution in May, as first reported by Becker’s Hospital Review.<\/p>\n

Before joining Mayo Clinic, Bhaskara-Baba was the global chief digital and information officer for Honeywell’s Aerospace Technologies Division from 2022 to 2025, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, Bhaskara-Baba spent 15 years with Johnson & Johnson; his last role there was as head of global manufacturing information technology.<\/p>\n

health system leaders shared that about 100 AI algorithms \u2014 from an ambient clinical note scribe to a tool that draws information out of non-Mayo patient records \u2014 were already in use.<\/p>\n

In June, Mayo Clinic announced it is working with Microsoft to develop a healthcare-specific AI model.<\/p>\n
