COMEDIAN ROSIE O\u2019DONNELL made a surprise return to US screens as she appeared as a guest host on Jimmy Kimmel Live.\u00a0<\/p>\n
O\u2019Donnell has been living in Dublin since January 2025 \u2013 \u201cbecause of mango Mussolini\u201d \u2013 and spoke at length on the programme about her experience.<\/p>\n
She and her child Clay uprooted their lives in New York before the second inauguration of US president Donald Trump, a fierce critic of O\u2019Donnell. Their feud dates back to 2006 when she attacked his history on infidelity on the daytime talk show The View.<\/p>\n
Since her departure from the US, she has not escaped Trump\u2019s criticism.<\/p>\n
In March 2025, he told Taoiseach Miche\u00e1l Martin in the White House that he was \u201cbetter off not knowing\u201d O\u2019Donnell<\/a>. In July 2025, he said he was considering removing the comedian\u2019s citizenship<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Opening Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night to chants of \u2018Rosie\u2019, O\u2019Donnell said, \u201cIf you thought the president hated Jimmy Kimmel Live when it was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, buckle up people.\u201d<\/p>\n She said when she first decided to go to Ireland, she told her child not to spread the news to avoid press and publicity. Clay, however, told their class that O\u2019Donnell was leaving the country due to mutual hatred between her and Trump.<\/p>\n Addressing the US president, she waved at the camera. \u201cHi. I know you\u2019re watching.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI decided to go to Ireland, where people are driven to drink regardless of who\u2019s running their country,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone thought that the weather was going to be really overwhelming for me, but it really wasn\u2019t, because the people in Ireland are the kindest people I\u2019ve ever met,\u201d she told the live studio audience to applause.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThey would stop me in the street.
