Big Brother’s oldest male housemate ever has revealed he’s been celibate his whole life and ‘adopted’ an adult refugee when they were 33 years old.<\/p>\n

The fly-on-the-wall reality show continued on Tuesday night after its live launch on Sunday as four new housemates entered the spy house.<\/p>\n

Londoner Richard, 60, is one of the late entrants and mature contestants of this year’s lineup.<\/p>\n

During the latest episode, the composer and author was probed by housemates on his marital status, to which he confirmed he’s never been wed.<\/p>\n

After revealing his celibacy to the house, Richard then shocked them by disclosing he has a son and grandchildren.<\/p>\n

He explained how he adopted the man, who was a 33-year-old adult at the time, to his stunned housemates.<\/p>\n

During the latest episode, the composer and author was probed by housemates on his marital status, to which he confirmed he’s never been wed<\/p>\n

Richard said: ‘I’ve somehow missed out the wife bit but I’ve got an adopted son and three grandchildren.’<\/p>\n

He continued: ‘He was 33. He was a refugee.<\/p>\n

‘I was actually working in Malaysia at the time and the hotel I was staying in, this particular gentleman was working there.<\/p>\n

‘He was a refugee from Myanmar which is the next country up if you know your geography and he told me quite early on that he had lost his natural father when he was a kid.<\/p>\n

‘That was our first meeting, but a friendship began to develop and whenever my travel plans took me to that part of the world I would just kind of go for a visit.’<\/p>\n

As the housemates intently listened, Richard added: ‘Then he turned to me for advice, and as we were getting close, he started saying things like “is this what it’s like having a dad to help you through life’s problems?”<\/p>\n

‘The crucial thing of that, I had been thinking “is this what it’s like having a son?”<\/p>\n

‘I was at home one day just kinda turning all of this over in my mind and I suddenly thought “well, why don’t you make it official then?”‘<\/p>\n

Richard explained how the gentleman was working in a hotel he was staying at in\u00a0Malaysia when they first met<\/p>\n

Fans were left stunned by the scenes and flooded social media with comments, calling for the 60-year-old to be crowned the winner<\/p>\n

They took to social media to comment on the scenes<\/p>\n

Following the scenes, one fan posted: ‘Can\u2019t cope with Richard adopting a 33 year old refugee. Stop the show and crown him already.’<\/p>\n

A second wrote: ‘Richard\u2019s story of his adopted refugee son had me welling up GIVE HIM THE 100K ALREADY.’<\/p>\n

‘Richard\u2019s adoption story is already one of the most intriguing and beautiful stories I have ever heard on Big Brother. I am sobbing,’ said a third.<\/p>\n

While a fourth penned: ‘Richard adopting a refugee as his son is the cutest thing I\u2019ve heard in a while. That man is my winner!’<\/p>\n

Richard’s arrival came on the back of a brutal launch night twist that saw Conservative Emily bid farewell to the show just hours after arriving, after she and housemates Sam and Caroline were forced to choose between them who would be sent home.<\/p>\n

The trio were told to decide between them who should leave in a brutal showdown, after a public vote during Sunday’s launch put them at risk of eviction.<\/p>\n

And thanks to votes from Sam and Caroline, Emily was sent home, despite her attempts to convince them she should stay as it was ‘once in a lifetime.’\u00a0<\/p>\n

She had shared her hopes of finding a husband in the Big Brother house, had already ruffled some viewers’ feathers by sharing her friendship with Boris Johnson, and proud membership of the Conservative Party.<\/p>\n
