Another day, and yet another Android Auto update has dropped that Google says fixes the disconnection and freezing issues some users have experienced over the past several months with the in-car infotainment system platform.<\/p>\n

In a recent comment from a Google Community Specialist<\/a>, Google says that Android Auto 17.4<\/a> should solve the freezing and disconnection issues some users have experienced (via @9to5Google<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Below is the full comment from Google on its official support forums:<\/p>\n

Hi everyone,<\/p>\n

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased to report that the team has implemented a fix. Please update<\/a> your Android Auto app to the latest version (17.4 or above), which should solve the problem.<\/p>\n

Google has said it solved Android Auto’s disconnection issues before<\/p>\n

Hopefully, this time the frustrating problems actually go away<\/p>\n

It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this from Google. Shortly after Android Auto 17.2’s release, an update aimed at solving the platform’s wired disconnection issues, Android Auto 17.3<\/a>, dropped. Back in early July, Google said this specific update intended to address the in-car infotainment platform crashing, but it didn’t seem to solve the problem for all users.<\/p>\n

Even earlier back in June, an Android Auto disconnection issue specifically plaguing Samsung and Pixel users, reportedly related to Android’s Advanced Protection feature<\/a>, also received a fix through a Google Play Services update, though, based on responses in XDA’s comment section, it didn’t solve the problem for everyone either.<\/p>\n

Whether this latest update actually fixes Android Auto’s connection and freezing issues is still unclear. For what it’s worth, I haven’t encountered any Android Auto disconnection issues recently with my Pixel 10 Pro.
