The BBC has shared a first look at upcoming four-part horror series The Witch Farm, announcing some exciting new cast additions. Set in 1980s Wales, the miniseries comes from 2:22 A Ghost Story writer Danny Robins.<\/p>\n

What It Feels Like for a Girl’s Michael Socha and The Guest’s Gabrielle Creevy lead the cast as couple Bill and Liz Rich, who relocate from London to a remote farmhouse in the Brecon Beacons with their teenage son.<\/p>\n

Joining the cast are Ted Lasso and Downton Abbey star Jeremy Swift, alongside The Capture’s Roger Evans and Industry’s Edward Holcroft.<\/p>\n

Lewin Lloyd, Peter Kay’s Car Share’s Sian Gibson and Game of Thrones actor Robert Pugh will also star.<\/p>\n

The series is inspired by first-hand accounts, theories and real events explored in Robins’ original BBC podcast of the same name. <\/p>\n

The Witch Farm begins with Bill and Liz determined to make a fresh start in Heol Fanog, initially relishing in the isolation the farmhouse offers. <\/p>\n

The synopsis continues: “But when frightening, inexplicable things begin to happen around the house and a strange figure begins to appear, the family starts to feel increasingly scared.<\/p>\n

“What follows is a steady escalation of the chillingly uncanny \u2013 unexplained disturbances and an unsettling sense that they are not alone.<\/p>\n

“As Bill and Liz begin to investigate, the house draws them deeper into a history that refuses to stay buried. And as the land yields its secrets, so too does their marriage \u2013 testing the limits of trust, belief, and what they\u2019re willing to deny in order to survive.” <\/p>\n

Robins previously said of the project: “Making the original podcast series of The Witch Farm was an exciting, thrill-ride in itself \u2013 finding a real-life case that \u2013 just maybe \u2013 comes close to answering that biggest of all questions, ‘do ghosts exist?’<\/p>\n

“Now things are getting even more exciting, as we evolve the story into a TV drama with this fantastic cast and the brilliant director Stacey Gregg.<\/p>\n
