{"id":600349,"date":"2026-08-21T16:28:17","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T16:28:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/600349\/"},"modified":"2026-08-21T16:28:17","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T16:28:17","slug":"womans-body-discovered-at-limerick-city-apartment-block","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/600349\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman\u2019s body discovered at Limerick city apartment block"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Garda\u00ed are investigating the discovery of the body of a woman in Limerick city centre this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The woman\u2019s body was discovered by garda\u00ed who were called to an apartment block at Lower Cecil Street around 7.30am this morning.<\/p>\n<p>The body remains at the scene inside the apartment block.<\/p>\n<p>It is understood the woman was in her 30s.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" height=\"595\" width=\"953\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/woman-s-body-discovered-at-limerick-city-apartment-block.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1942516 size-full aligncenter fixed-width-container\"\/><\/p>\n<p> The woman\u2019s body was discovered by garda\u00ed who were called to an apartment block at Lower Cecil Street around 7.30am this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Garda\u00ed have sealed off the building and are awaiting a Garda forensic unit to examine the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A Garda spokesman said: \u201cGarda\u00ed are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a woman in an apartment on Cecil Street, Limerick City this morning, Friday 21st August 2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe body of this person remains at the scene. The scene is currently held for technical examination.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEnquiries are ongoing.
