{"id":600412,"date":"2026-08-21T17:54:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T17:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/600412\/"},"modified":"2026-08-21T17:54:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T17:54:12","slug":"ruth-negga-pulls-out-of-play-scheduled-to-run-at-gaiety-next-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/600412\/","title":{"rendered":"Ruth Negga pulls out of play scheduled to run at Gaiety next month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ACTOR RUTH NEGGA has pulled out of a scheduled run at the Gaiety Theatre.<\/p>\n<p>The Academy Award nominee was due to appear in RADIO BETTE as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival this September.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for the performance\u2019s first went on sale on 29 July when the line-up was announced.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The show pays tribute to classic Hollywood with Negga and the cast channelling stars from Bette Davis to Marilyn Monroe.<\/p>\n<p>However, Goat Exchange, the New York company producing RADIO BETTE, has revealed Negga will no longer be performing.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the theatre company said it \u201cregrets to announce that Ruth Negga will be stepping back from RADIO BETTE\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are deeply grateful to Ruth for the time, generosity, and extraordinary work she has brought to the project\u201d, it added.<\/p>\n<p>Radio Bette is among the international highlights of the festival this year, which sees 26 productions taking place across the capital.<\/p>\n<p>Goat Exchange said that the production would go ahead as planned.<\/p>\n<p>Further casting will be announced in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dublintheatrefestival.ie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dublin Theatre Festival <\/a>runs from 24 September to 11 October<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"ACTOR RUTH NEGGA has pulled out of a scheduled run at the Gaiety Theatre.
