\n\tThe Venice Film Festival<\/a> has made a last-minute addition to its competition lineup: \u201cNaza<\/a>,\u201d a new documentary from \u201cNo Other Land<\/a>\u201d directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe doc, which was shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, shows \u201cin detail the systems behind Israel\u2019s calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza,\u201d according to its official synopsis. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNaza\u201d is produced by The Guardian and James Wilson of JW Films, and executive produced by Jonathan Glazer. Wilson and Glazer also worked on 2023\u2019s \u201cThe Zone of Interest\u201d together, which won the Oscar for best international feature. <\/p>\n

\n\tAbraham and Szor are two of the four co-directors of 2025\u2019s Oscar-winning doc \u201cNo Other Land.\u201d That film, which premiered at Berlin Film Festival, showed the destruction and displacement of Masafer Yatta, a Palestinian community in the West Bank. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNaza\u201d will screen at Venice Film Festival on Sept. 10 at 5:15 p.m. in the Sala Grande at the Palazzo del Cinema, in the presence of the directors, producers, Guardian journalists and the official delegation. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe film is the only documentary included in this year\u2019s Venice competition section. It joins a starry lineup including Lance Oppenheim\u2019s \u201cPrimetime,\u201d Danny Boyle\u2019s \u201cInk,\u201d Casey Affleck\u2019s \u201cCompany,\u201d Werner Herzog\u2019s \u201cBucking Fastard,\u201d Hirokazu Kore-eda\u2019s \u201cLook Back,\u201d Martin McDonagh\u2019s \u201cWild Horse Nine,\u201d Florian Zeller\u2019s \u201cBunker\u201d and more. It marks Abraham and Szor\u2019s first time competing for Venice\u2019s Golden Lion, which will be awarded at the closing ceremony on Sept. 12. <\/p>\n
