Garda\u00ed are treating the death of a Brazilian woman in Limerick as a murder-suicide after the body of her husband, who is suspected of her killing, was found in Cork at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, a law graduate from Brazil, was found dead at an apartment on Lower Cecil Street on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

It is understood that friends of Ms Pereira Rosa, who had been waiting outside the building for her, contacted garda\u00ed when she did not appear.<\/p>\n

When garda\u00ed arrived at the scene they discovered her body in an apartment upstairs.<\/p>\n

A murder investigation began after a post-mortem examination found evidence of foul play in her death.<\/p>\n

It is believed her husband, who has been named as Judismar Wesley Batista and who was in his 30s, left Limerick on public transport on Friday and travelled to Cork, where his body was found on Saturday.<\/p>\n

A Garda Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support Ms Pereira Rosa’s family.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a fundraising campaign to help the family of the 33-year-old with repatriation and funeral costs has raised more than \u20ac25,000.<\/p>\n

It is understood that Ms Pereira Rosa was working with a cleaning company in Limerick and her employer is covering the cost of repatriation to Sao Paulo, Brazil.<\/p>\n

The funds raised will cover the costs of a wake and funeral in her hometown of Sorocaba.<\/p>\n

Tributes have been paid to the Ms Pereira Rosa who was a popular member of the Brazilian community in Limerick.<\/p>\n

She has been described by those who knew her as kind and bubbly.<\/p>\n
