{"id":603115,"date":"2026-08-24T12:54:11","date_gmt":"2026-08-24T12:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/603115\/"},"modified":"2026-08-24T12:54:11","modified_gmt":"2026-08-24T12:54:11","slug":"murder-suicide-husband-of-brazilian-woman-killed-in-limerick-found-dead-in-cork","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/603115\/","title":{"rendered":"Murder-suicide: Husband of Brazilian woman killed in Limerick found dead in Cork"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Garda\u00ed launched a murder investigation into the death of Brazilian native Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa, aged 33, after her body was found at an apartment in the Carlton House complex on Cecil St at approximately 7.30am on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Investigating garda\u00ed were keen to speak to Brazilian national Judismar Wesley Batista, who was known to the victim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">According to sources, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.irishexaminer.com\/news\/munster\/arid-41899948.html\">a body found in Cork<\/a> on Friday evening was Mr Batista.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">It is understood he died by suicide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Friends of Jady Cristine Pereira Rosa told the  Irish Examiner she had been married to Judismar Wesley Batista for over a decade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Sources told the  Irish Examiner that the young woman broke off their relationship a couple of months ago, but that Batista \u201cwas not accepting much\u201d and hoped for \u201creconciliation\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/5204488_6_articleinlinemobile_WhatsApp_20Image_202026-08-22_20at_2014.47.23.jpeg\" alt=\"Floral tributes left at the Carlton House apartment complex on Cecil Street in Limerick City. Picture: Manon Gilbart<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Garda\u00ed issued a statement on Monday afternoon confirming that a man aged in his 30s, who was a person of interest and a line of inquiry in this investigation, has been found deceased.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">\u201cAn Garda S\u00edoch\u00e1na continue to investigate the murder of the woman to determine all of the circumstances of her death. A senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation. An incident room has been established at Henry Street Garda Station\u201d, a Garda spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\"> Garda\u00ed are still working on notifying the family of Batista.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Anyone with any information is asked to contact Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400.<\/p>\n<p class=\"contextmenu caption\">Friends raised the alarm<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">On Friday evening, siblings of the victim widely shared posts calling for Batista to be found. They later in the evening shared an update to say his body had been found.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Friends of Ms Pereira Rosa raised the alarm on Friday morning as they were due to meet her for work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">The friends always met to go to work all together in the mornings, and when she didn&#8217;t appear, they alerted garda\u00ed at Henry Street station, which is located near Cecil St.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Ms Pereira Rosa&#8217;s partner was seen by witnesses that morning around her home.
