Brentford supporters produced one of the chants of the Premier League\u2019s opening weekend as Keith Andrews\u2019 side demolished Tottenham Hotspur.<\/p>\n

The Irish-led Bees began their second season under Andrews with an emphatic 3-0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Keane Lewis-Potter, Vitaly Janelt and Michael Kayode scoring the goals.<\/p>\n

As Spurs staggered towards a miserable defeat, the home supporters began serenading them with a straightforward but cutting chant.<\/p>\n

The chant neatly captured the extraordinary trajectories of Frank and the man who replaced him at Brentford.<\/p>\n

Frank left the west London club in June 2025 after seven years at the helm, taking over at Tottenham following the dismissal of Ange Postecoglou.<\/p>\n

Brentford responded by promoting their Irish set-piece coach Andrews, who had only joined the club the previous summer.<\/p>\n

It was the Dubliner\u2019s first senior managerial role and his appointment was greeted with plenty of scepticism, particularly as Brentford lost several major players and backroom staff during the same summer.<\/p>\n

The contrasting fortunes of the two managers could hardly have been more dramatic.<\/p>\n

Andrews guided Brentford to ninth place during his maiden season and narrowly missed out on European qualification. His progress was rewarded with a new long-term contract as the club backed him to continue their development.<\/p>\n

Frank, meanwhile, lasted only eight months at Tottenham.<\/p>\n

He was dismissed in February after a run of two victories in 17 league matches left Spurs 16th in the table and only five points clear of the relegation places.<\/p>\n

When Frank was dismissed, the former Republic of Ireland midfielder described him as a friend and admitted that his immediate reaction had been one of sadness.<\/p>\n

Andrews had also spoken warmly about the Dane before their first meeting as opposing managers, saying Frank was a major reason why he initially joined Brentford and crediting him for everything he achieved at the club.<\/p>\n

Tottenham eventually survived another 17th-place finish under Roberto De Zerbi, but their latest rebuild got off to a dreadful start against the manager they had left behind at Brentford.<\/p>\n

Andrews\u2019 team thoroughly outplayed Spurs,\u00a0Lewis-Potter opened the scoring before Janelt doubled Brentford\u2019s advantage prior to half-time.<\/p>\n

The Irish influence was evident throughout the victory.<\/p>\n

Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Caoimh\u00edn Kelleher kept a clean sheet, while captain Nathan Collins played an important role in the third goal. The Leixlip defender headed a corner back across goal, Mamadou Sangar\u00e9\u2019s shot was saved and Kayode drove the rebound home.<\/p>\n

Damien Duff was also on the Brentford sideline after joining Andrews\u2019 coaching staff during the summer.<\/p>\n

The former Shelbourne manager\u2019s appointment strengthened an already significant Irish contingent, and Kelleher has praised the energy and standards Duff has brought to the training ground.<\/p>\n
