Aircoach is launching a fleet of double decker buses on one of its busiest Dublin routes due to what it calls a ‘period of increased passenger demand’.<\/p>\n
The new coaches will be rolled out across its 700X Dublin city centre route travelling between Dublin airport and Dublin city centre.<\/p>\n
Aircoach said its existing fleet of single-deck coaches on the 700X route will all be replaced with double-deckers, increasing the operator’s passenger capacity from 49 to 97 people on every journey.<\/p>\n
The new purple double-deckers will be sub-branded as the “Dublin Airport Flyer” from Aircoach.<\/p>\n
Kim Swan, Managing Director of Aircoach said the investment reflects the growing demand they have seen from passengers on this route.<\/p>\n
“Our double-deckers will make a real difference for our customers, particularly at peak travel times, and we hope it will encourage even more people to choose sustainable bus travel over private car journeys.”<\/p>\n
The new fleet represents a significant investment by Aircoach, which it says underlines the company’s ongoing commitment to delivering enhanced connectivity and improving travel options for people across the island of Ireland.<\/p>\n
This announcement follows a \u00a33 million investment in 2025 by Aircoach in a luxury fleet of new coaches on its 705X route, which serves Derry, Belfast and Dublin.<\/p>\n
Dublin Airport Authority’s Commercial Director Ronan Fitzsimons, said they fully support the introduction of Aircoach’s double-deckers.<\/p>\n
“Reliable and high-capacity public transport links like Aircoach\u2019s are an essential part of the passenger journey to and from Dublin airport.<\/p>\n
