Liverpool and PSG are closing in on a deal for Bradley Barcola to move to the Premier League, according to reports coming out of France.<\/p>\n

Loic Tanzi reports for L\u2019Equipe<\/a> that the France international is \u201cexpected to become the biggest transfer of a Ligue 1 player to a foreign club\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Merseysiders are understood to be in the market for a minimum of two offensive signings<\/a>, including the 23-year-old, and may push for a third transfer beyond that.<\/p>\n

It seems that PSG won\u2019t make it entirely easy for the Reds\u2019 negotiators, however, with the Parisians sitting firm on their \u20ac140m [\u00a3119.7m] valuation.<\/p>\n

Of course, it\u2019s worth emphasising that this is a notable drop-off from the peak of talks, where Barcola\u2019s value was understood to be in the region of \u20ac170m [\u00a3145.3m]<\/p>\n

PSG\u2019s fresh valuation at least brings the deal closer to the yardstick they were initially using in Manchester City and Chelsea\u2019s deals for Elliot Anderson [\u00a3116m] and Morgan Rogers [\u00a3117m], respectively<\/p>\n

At any rate, the left-sided winger and his entourage are thought to be increasingly confident that a deal will be finalised with Andoni Iraola\u2019s Reds.<\/p>\n

And boy has it been a long time coming\u2026<\/p>\n

Seven days doesn\u2019t seem like enough time to get three bodies in, does it?<\/p>\n

At the very least, it seems like we\u2019re nearing the end of talks with PSG for Bradley Barcola, and recent reporting suggests Liverpool could have a done deal for Yankuba Minteh with their third bid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So the pressure\u2019s on Richard Hughes and Co. to get in their third man \u2013 who we\u2019d reasonably presume to be a centre-forward \u2013 and ensure that Iraola at least has a stacked forward line to work with this year.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s still leaving us short in central midfield and at right-back, we feel, but it seems our Basque head coach is convinced he can fix Liverpool\u2019s gaping midfield with the personnel he has.<\/p>\n

Though we\u2019re not quite sure how he plans to navigate the precarious situation at right-back, with only Jeremie Frimpong available as a senior option.<\/p>\n

Whatever way we cut it, we\u2019re going to be left short for, at the very least, the first half of 2026\/27.<\/p>\n
