When the first season of Stranger Things: Tales From \u201985<\/a> arrived, it felt too soon<\/a> after the main Stranger Things<\/a> series had ended. Pop culture was oversaturated with all things Hawkins, which made the animated series\u2019 self-reflexive nostalgia feel even more heavy-handed. However, now that several months have passed, we feel a bit more excited about Tales From \u201985 season two<\/a>, especially after watching this fun first trailer revealing supernatural shenanigans to come.<\/p>\n

According to a Netflix press release, season two will pick up right after season one, meaning we\u2019re still in the winter months between the live-action show\u2019s second and third seasons. Tales From \u201985 will always have some continuity issues to grapple with\u2014sending the \u201cHawkins Investigator Club\u201d on a wild adventure they never mention again, with a bestie (Odessa A\u2019zion\u2019s Nikki Baxter) that drops out of sight and mind long before the Starcourt Mall opens. But maybe season two\u2019s ghost hunt will feel like a more substantial standalone than season one\u2019s too-familiar mystery in the snow, which had an unfortunate \u201cWhy does this exist?\u201d quality to it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe gang is back at it, and so are the strange creatures lurking about their seemingly quaint town,\u201d explains Netflix\u2019s official synopsis<\/a>. \u201cWith Valentine\u2019s Day just around the corner, mysterious \u2018ghostly\u2019 apparitions and a swarm of hate sprites are wreaking havoc around Hawkins. The HIC must uncover the truth behind these paranormal events before a new gate to the Upside Down is ripped open.\u201d<\/p>\n
