{"id":604565,"date":"2026-08-25T22:34:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T22:34:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/604565\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T22:34:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T22:34:12","slug":"maureen-fitzsimons-nee-joyce-midwest-radio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/604565\/","title":{"rendered":"Maureen Fitzsimons n\u00e9e Joyce &#8211; Midwest Radio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Clogher, Westport, and formerly of The Curragh, Castlebar.<\/p>\n<p>Predeceased by her parents William and Mary Ellen Joyce, young daughter Sinead, sons-in-law Tom Bradley and Frank Martin.<\/p>\n<p>Maureen passed away peacefully in the exceptional care of The Pilgrims Rest Nursing Home on the 23rd of August following a long illness.<\/p>\n<p>She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband Michael and her daughters, Muriel (Dean Matsuura, USA), Maura (John Killeen, Claremorris), Helen (Sligo), Deirdre (Westport). Her 15 grandchildren Michael, Sinead, Deirdre, Megan, Robert, Pearse, Sean, Jane, Mark, Ruth, Kate, Luke, Sara, Elisabeth and Liam. Also her sister Nancy Mc Knight (Galway), sisters in law, brothers in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.<\/p>\n<p>Suaimhneas s\u00edora\u00ed d\u00e1 hanam<\/p>\n<p>Reposing in Navin\u2019s Funeral Home, Westport on Friday evening 28th August from 5 o\u2019clock with removal at 6.30 to St. Mary\u2019s Church, Westport where Funeral Mass for Maureen will be celebrated on Saturday morning 29th August at 11 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p>Maureen will be laid to rest after her Funeral Mass in Kilmaclasser Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>For those unable to attend on Saturday, Maureen\u2019s Mass may be viewed by clicking on the following link at 11am <a href=\"http:\/\/www.churchtv.ie\/westport\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">www.churchtv.ie\/westport<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Your messages of sympathy and support for the Fitzsimons family are most welcome and can be left in the \u2018Condolences\u2019 section below.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Clogher, Westport, and formerly of The Curragh, Castlebar.
