Rumer Willis, the eldest daughter of US stars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, said she is \u201cso grateful\u201d for the time she has with her father.<\/p>\n

In 2023, it was announced that the 71-year-old actor, known for roles in Die Hard and The Sixth Sense, had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).<\/p>\n

The condition causes problems with behaviour and language, with symptoms including personality changes, slow speech, problems with mental abilities and memory problems, according to the NHS.<\/p>\n

Rumer Willis, 38, said her father is \u201cdoing well\u201d as she reflected on his health in an interview with People magazine.<\/p>\n

The actress said: \u201cThe most important thing for me is that I\u2019m so grateful that I have this time with him for however many years it may be.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m grateful that he seems generally wonderful and, given all of the givens of our situation, that our family is just so loving and together.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s been interesting having a family member with dementia, it\u2019s like, he\u2019s happy.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs well as someone could be doing, given the circumstances, he\u2019s doing well.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cWhen I get to see him, he sees me and (my daughter) Louetta and he starts smiling.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s so much love and joy and tenderness that still exists there. And in terms of that, I would say that\u2019s a huge win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pulp Fiction star Bruce has been married to Emma Heming Willis for 17 years, and they have two children together.<\/p>\n

The model, who has spoken publicly about caring for her husband, said she is \u201cgrateful\u201d her \u201chusband is still very much here\u201d in an ABC News special with Diane Sawyer last year.<\/p>\n

Heming Willis added: \u201cBruce is still very mobile, Bruce is in really great health overall, it\u2019s just his brain that is failing him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The most important thing for me is that I\u2019m so grateful that I have this time with him for however many years it may be. I\u2019m grateful that he seems generally wonderful and, given all of the givens of our situation, that our family is just so loving and together.<\/p>\n

Rumer Willis<\/p>\n

In March 2022, Rumer shared on Instagram that her father had been diagnosed with aphasia, a disorder that affects communication abilities.<\/p>\n

She provided an update in 2023 explaining he had received a \u201cmore specific\u201d diagnosis of FTD.<\/p>\n

In the post about aphasia from 2022, Rumer also revealed her father would be \u201cstepping away from the career that has meant so much to him\u201d.<\/p>\n

Rumer is the eldest daughter of Willis and Moore, who were married from 1987 to 2000.<\/p>\n
