We just learned about the SimCity-like\u00a0Star Trek: Outposts Unknown game last month<\/a> \u2013 and have even had the chance to try out a demo<\/a> \u2013 and now the game has a release date and details on how you can play, along with a new trailer.<\/p>\n

A release date\u2026 and a sortof trailer<\/p>\n

The news comes from Gamescom over in Germany today, confirming the game\u2019s October 20 release date on both Windows PC and Mac via Steam<\/a>.\u00a0Outpost Unknown\u2018s release date was detailed during the Future Game Show, specifically, and featured a new, voiceless trailer that briefly showed off the game in action. It\u2019s below, though admittedly light on actual content \u2014 a previous trailer is a better example of what to expect if you\u2019re newly discovering this city builder<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Bad news for consoles (for now)<\/p>\n

Publisher Playstack has also taken to the comments of the below video, saying that it and developer Magic Fuel Games are \u201cfocused on a Steam release, available on PC or Mac\u201d rather than availability on Xbox, PlayStation, or Switch consoles. This is unfortunate news for those wanting to play on consoles; back at its announcement in June<\/a>, PlayStack and Magic Fuel Games called the title \u201cthe first-ever Star Trek colony-builder [for]\u2026 PC and console.\u201d We\u2019ve reached out to Playstack for further clarification on the matter.<\/p>\n

What to expect from\u00a0Outposts Unknown<\/p>\n
