{"id":605757,"date":"2026-08-27T02:12:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T02:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/605757\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T02:12:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T02:12:10","slug":"popular-howth-beach-joins-host-of-dublin-swimming-spots-with-do-not-swim-notices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/605757\/","title":{"rendered":"Popular Howth beach joins host of Dublin swimming spots with &#8216;do not swim&#8217; notices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A NOTICE WARNING bathers not to swim has been issued at popular swimming spot Claremont Beach in Howth.<\/p>\n<p>The council said the move follows the receipt of today\u2019s sample results for the water at the north county Dublin beach, which classified the bathing water as \u201cpoor\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>While the cause of the pollution is currently unknown, it is suspected it is the result of impacts from animals and birds, as well as contamination of urban surface waters discharging into the bathing water.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The notice prohibiting bathing is expected to be in place for three days.
