\n Plans are being explored to replace gym equipment at Egerton Park,<\/a> after the facilities were described as worn and damaged.\n<\/p>\n

\n Cllr Nadim Muslim, of Egerton and Bromley Cross,<\/a> said the aim was to give children and adults access to free exercise facilities.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cWe just want to make sure that children have got access to facilities where it is free and they can use it to make themselves, not only have a good time, but also just feel a bit good, feel healthier.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n He said the equipment had been in place for more than ten years and was no longer working to its full strength.\n<\/p>\n

\n He said the proposals were being considered with council officers as part of investment in local parks, with discussion with Epic Egerton’s<\/a> chair Amy Cowen.\n<\/p>\n

\n Options under proposed plans could include a cross trainer and rower, a pull down and chest press station, and an air walker and bike.\n<\/p>\n

\n The tennis court lines have been repainted, with Cllr Muslim saying this was completed within a few days of the issue being raised with the council.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

\n The park includes a children\u2019s playground, bowling green and tennis courts, with organised children\u2019s activities taking place there.\n<\/p>\n

\n Cllr Muslim said the gym equipment would not be only for children.\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt also means that adults that are watching their children as well can take time to use the gym equipment if they want to.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\n He added: \u201cIt\u2019s not just for children, it\u2019s for adults.<\/a>\n<\/p>\n

\n \u201cIt means they can safely watch their children and also have a bit of exercise themselves.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
