Nicole Kidman said it was \u201camazing\u201d to reunite with her Practical Magic co-star Sandra Bullock for the film\u2019s sequel, and thanked the \u201cgroundswell of fans\u201d that made it possible.<\/p>\n

The Australian-American actress, 59, starred alongside Bullock in the 1998 cult classic film \u2013 which follows witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens as they navigate life with their magical abilities.<\/p>\n

The stars have reunited almost 30 years later for its sequel, which sees the sisters confront a multi-generational curse threatening their family.<\/p>\n

Kidman praised how \u201cgratifying\u201d it was to return to the franchise so many years later, as she spoke to the Press Association at the European premiere of Practical Magic 2.<\/p>\n

The Oscar-winning actress said: \u201cIt used to be that films came out and they died, then they would find a life of their own.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo much of the time now that doesn\u2019t happen \u2013 it comes out, it\u2019s gone, it\u2019s so quick.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an example of a film that can find its way, and people eventually find it and then demand a sequel, which is great.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kidman also said the latest instalment in the franchise has been made \u201cprimarily due to the groundswell of fans\u201d as she discussed the \u201camazing\u201d new film.<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cTo be able to come back 28 years later and star in this movie together, and be able to get it made\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is so hard to get a film made, particularly with a budget that is decent, and to be able to do it together as women is kind of fantastic.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s gratifying in itself, and hopefully it says something about the industry where you can do it.\u201d<\/p>\n

The film is directed by Susanne Bier, and is focused on the female members of the Owens family \u2013 with Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest also reprising their roles as Aunt Frances and Aunt Jet, respectively.<\/p>\n

It is so hard to get a film made, particularly with a budget that is decent, and to be able to do it together as women is kind of fantastic. That’s gratifying in itself, and hopefully it says something about the industry where you can do it.<\/p>\n

Bullock, who attended the premiere wearing a bold leopard print dress with a bow detail, shared the sentiment that it was \u201ceasy\u201d to step back into her role as Sally Owens almost three decades later.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on her dynamic with Kidman, she told PA: \u201cThe bickering, the joking\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are the same people that we were back then, except now we have children.\u201d<\/p>\n

Oscar-winning actress Bullock also praised the magic of returning to the Owens family home, adding: \u201cWe don\u2019t have the midnight margaritas without the house.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe house is the heart of this film. It was the most iconic thing for us to rebuild that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bullock embraced Kidman, who wore a white sequin gown with gold chain and pearl details, as they posed for photos on the star-studded blue carpet at the event in London.<\/p>\n

They were flanked by co-stars including The Kissing Booth star Joey King, who wowed crowds in a light blue mesh gown worn over a pastel yellow two-piece.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old wore her long brown hair in loose waves, and her dress was embellished with floral details as she embraced the witchy fashion of the film.<\/p>\n

Others in attendance include Game Of Thrones actress Maisie Williams, who opted for a simple burgundy gown which showcased her back tattoos.<\/p>\n

Channing, who played Rizzo in Grease, was also at the event as well as Wiest, and they were joined by fellow stars of the film such as Solly McLeod and Xolo Mariduena.<\/p>\n
