\n\tDolly Parton<\/a> had a heart of gold, and many stories surrounding the music icon have resurfaced following her passing <\/a>on Tuesday (Aug. 25).<\/p>\n

\n\tJuicy J <\/a>added to the discourse on Wednesday (Aug. 26) during an appearance with his brother Project Pat<\/a> on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which is being guest hosted by Jelly Roll<\/a>. He recalled Dolly Parton graciously writing Three 6 Mafia<\/a> a letter after the Memphis rap group beat her for an Oscar in 2006.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe only person almost excited as y\u2019all were was Dolly Parton,\u201d Jelly Roll quipped after they replayed the 2006 Oscars clip, which showed Parton cheering on Three 6 even in defeat.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe sent us a letter and signed it and said, \u2018Congratulations and I\u2019m glad somebody from Tennessee won the Oscar,’\u201d Juicy J shared of Parton\u2019s kind gesture.<\/p>\n

\n\tJuicy said he met Dolly before they went on stage and then headed to the \u201clongest Oscar party in the world\u201d to celebrate the group\u2019s victory.<\/p>\n

\n\tThree 6 Mafia made history at the 2006 Oscars when\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s Hard Out Here for a Pimp\u201d (Hustle & Flow) won best original song over Dolly Parton\u2019s \u201cTravelin\u2019 Thru\u201d (Transamerica) and Kathleen York\u2019s \u201cIn the Deep\u201d (Crash). <\/p>\n

\n\tWith the win, Three 6 became the first hip-hop group to win an Oscar; they were also the first rap act to perform at the ceremony.<\/p>\n

\n\tDolly Parton died<\/a> in Nashville on Tuesday (Aug. 25) following a brief battle with cancer,<\/a> according to a statement shared by the \u201c9 to 5\u201d singer\u2019s team. The 10-time Grammy winner and influential songwriter was 80.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for Juicy J and Project Pat, they performed \u201cYes Lord\u201d on Kimmel from the brothers\u2019 Dem Goats album, which arrived in July. <\/p>\n
