The streets are talking about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/movies\/news\/x-men-mcu-cast-confirmed-d23-adam-driver-inde-navarette-christopher-abbott\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">X-Men<\/a>, incursions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/movies\/news\/why-russos-returning-marvel-avengers-secret-wars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Secret Wars<\/a>, and Jonathan Hickman comics. All of which can only mean one thing: the countdown to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/movies\/news\/avengers-doomsday-trailer-robert-downey-jr-doctor-doom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> is officially on. And, as of today, the Countdown To Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast is also on, hosted by Marvel Studios&#8217; own <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/tv\/reviews\/ms-marvel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Ms. Marvel<\/a>, the one and only Iman Vellani, alongside The Basement Yard podder Frank Alvarez. And you can literally watch the entire first episode directly below;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s easy to write this off as just another piece of marketing, but seriously, how cool is it to have two ball-knowing MCU superfans \u2014 one of whom is literally a Young Avenger in waiting, no less \u2014 joining forces to recap the Marvel Cinematic Universe&#8217;s major movies and moments ahead of Doomsday? If this first episode is anything to go by, filled with nerdy tangents and sidebars and incisive observations and full-on fangirling moments as Alvarez and Vellani revisit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/movies\/reviews\/avengers-assemble-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Avengers Assemble<\/a>, then it looks like we&#8217;ve got our appointment viewing\/listening sorted for the next month leading up to Endgame Encore&#8217;s 25 September cinema release. Also, with it having been a solid three years since we last saw Iman Vellani in live-action in the MCU (Nia DaCosta&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/movies\/reviews\/the-marvels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Marvels<\/a>, in case you wondered pub quizzers), it&#8217;s just pretty nice to see one of the self-proclaimed biggest Marvel fans among Marvel Studios&#8217; roster getting to geek out and remind us all what we&#8217;ve been missing in her absence.<\/p>\n<p>With <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/movies\/reviews\/avengers-age-ultron-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Avengers: Age Of Ultron<\/a> next on Vellani and Alvarez&#8217;s agenda, there&#8217;s plenty more MCU chat to be had in the coming weeks \u2014 and with the pod available on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.disneyplus.com\/brand\/marvel?cid=DTCI-Synergy-Marvel-Site-Acquisition-Originals-US-Marvel-Marvel-EN-ArticleLink-Marvel_ArticleLink_Marvel-NA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Disney+<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/marvel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">YouTube<\/a>, Apple Podcasts,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/show\/03439cinKszGhrgP6ycs6K\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Spotify<\/a>, and basically all podcasting platforms, we&#8217;ll be tuning in to Countdown To Doomsday and dreaming of a big Empire Pod x Doomsday crossover event for the foreseeable future.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"MCU movies are dominating the Disney+ Top 10.
