Rap supergroup Czarface (7L & Esoteric and Wu-Tang Clan\u2019s Inspectah Deck) have released a new album, Czarface Meets Frankie Pulitzer, and they\u2019ve brought along a few friends. A new track from this album, \u201cRaw Forever,\u201d is making the rounds on the internet today, and rightly so\u2014it\u2019s not bad, a thumping four-part flow with each guest star, Busta Rhymes, Method Man, and EL-O, setting the stage for their extra-special guest, Frankie Pulitzer, also known to some as the vocally eclectic <\/a>Venom and The Dark Knight Rises actor Tom Hardy. Certainly, there\u2019s something to admire about how especially nerdy this collaboration is, featuring Messrs. Rhymes, Man, and Pulitzer charting a pop culture road map with scads of references both popular and, uh, not so much (it\u2019s not every day you find your head nodding to a reference to Scott Cooper\u2019s 2015 crime movie Black Mass). With lines like \u201cWith the raps we go to bat like Jim Gordon,\u201d we can almost hear the former Bane actor getting amped up before he even takes the mic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Among the many references in this righteous dork love-in: a passing nod to Martin Scorsese before Hardy evokes the name of Frank Pierce, Nic Cage\u2019s character in the 1999 film\u00a0Bringing Out The Dead; noting that he\u2019s \u201csomething of a scientist\u201d like Willem Dafoe (followed by the declaration that he is, in fact, \u201cGoblin up crumbs\u201d); a fleeting nod to\u00a0Dog Day Afternoon\u00a0is followed by a very-awesome nod to the DC Comics war hero Sgt. Rock; the bar \u201crip you out your costume\u201d is accompanied by a Batman Halloween mask in the video; a very timely line that should only make you wince a little goes, \u201cDoctor Doom, how I\u2019m the \u2018victor\u2019 of the scripture.\u201d If that\u2019s not enough, you can listen to another track,\u00a0\u201cKnull & Void,\u201d<\/a> a reference to the villain behind\u00a0Venom: The Last Dance\u00a0and Marvel Comics\u2019\u00a0King In Black saga.<\/p>\n

Long-time Hardy heads will know the actor is serious about the rap game. Before he broke out in 2001 with roles in Ridley Scott\u2019s Black Hawk Down and the HBO series Band Of Brothers, Hardy recorded with childhood friend Edward Tracy as Tommy No 1 + Eddie Too Tall, cutting a mixtape in 1999 called Falling On Your Arse that hit unsuspecting eardrums in 2018.<\/a> Hardy\u2019s not new to the Czarface ensemble, either; he\u2019s been recording with the group since 2021<\/a>, and Czarface tracks featured on the soundtrack <\/a>to Hardy\u2019s 2021 Venom sequel, Let There Be Carnage.\u00a0<\/p>\n
