\n\tAlthough the MCU has expanded the multiverse to bring back multiple Spider-Men, Shailene Woodley<\/a>\u2018s Mary Jane Watson remains lost on the cutting room floor.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 2x Golden Globe nominee recently recalled her performance as Mary Jane Watson being cut from 2014\u2019s The Amazing Spider-Man<\/a> 2 after filming scenes with Andrew Garfield\u2019s Peter Parker.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOh, we shot it. That was a fun phone call,\u201d she said in a talk with SAG-AFTRA<\/a>. \u201cI was cast as Mary Jane for Spider-Man, which was my dream. Oh my god, Spider-Man\u2019s my favorite superhero, Mary Jane was my favorite character growing up. So, when I got it, I was like, \u2018This is so exciting!\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd then, we filmed like three scenes together, me and Andrew Garfield. And then, like a year later, they were like, \u2018So, you\u2019re not in the movie anymore.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018What? What do you mean?\u2019 And they\u2019re like, \u2018We\u2019ve introduced a lot of new characters in this last one, and we\u2019re going to wait for whatever happens between [Emma Stone] and Andrew [Garfield].’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWoodley continued, \u201cThey were like, \u2018Let\u2019s wait for her to die, and then we\u2019ll introduce Mary Jane.\u2019 Which made sense, but then they didn\u2019t make that film. So, there was no reintroduction. \u2026 That\u2019s what I was told, but again, who knows what the truth is? I could have been terrible, and they were like, \u2018We can\u2019t do this.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough Garfield\u2019s Spider-Man teamed up with Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire in 2021\u2019s Spider-Man: No Way Home, he said \u201cunequivocally fucking no<\/a>\u201d to reprising the role in Avengers: Doomsday, premiering Dec. 18 in theaters. But he hasn\u2019t completely ruled out<\/a> another movie in his Spidey continuity, which could give Woodley\u2019s Mary Jane her long-overdue debut.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI really love playing Spider-Man.
