RAYAN CHERKI PROVED his point to Enzo Maresca as the Manchester City star\u2019s brilliant double inspired a 4-1 rout of Crystal Palace on Friday.<\/p>\n
City boss Maresca admitted Cherki was frustrated to be left out of the starting line-up for last weekend\u2019s 2-1 win against Bournemouth in their Premier League opener.<\/p>\n
The France playmaker responded to the snub in emphatic style.<\/p>\n
He came off the bench to provide a pair of assists against Bournemouth and seized his chance to start at Selhurst Park with a masterful display that underlined his qualities.<\/p>\n
The 23-year-old had alarmed Pep Guardiola with some of his more flamboyant antics on the pitch in his debut season at City last term, while questions remain about the former Lyon midfielder\u2019s ability to adhere to a team-first ethos.<\/p>\n
