{"id":608675,"date":"2026-08-29T22:30:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T22:30:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/608675\/"},"modified":"2026-08-29T22:30:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T22:30:16","slug":"four-emerging-irish-acts-dazzle-on-electric-picnic-main-stage-in-tinie-tempah-backed-showcase","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/608675\/","title":{"rendered":"Four emerging Irish acts dazzle on Electric Picnic main stage in Tinie Tempah-backed showcase"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE MAIN STAGE at Electric Picnic got off to a flying start this afternoon as British hip hop legend Tinie Tempah opened with a barnstorming performance of his iconic Labrinth collaboration \u2018Earthquake\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>A high-energy crowd of thousands had come in their ponchos and raincoats ready to dance, and Tinie and DJ Charlsey did not disappoint in their first Irish performance in over five years.<\/p>\n<p>They split the crowd down the middle for new single \u2018Heaven and Hell\u2019, getting one half (Heaven) waving hats and raincoats in the air, and the other to form a mosh pit.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1788042614_725_.jpeg\"  alt=\"electric-picnic-festival-2026-day-two\" class=\"alignnone inline-image\" \/><br \/>\n            Tinie Tempah and DJ Charlsey at Electric Picnic.                    Ramsey Cardy<\/p>\n<p>    Ramsey Cardy\n<\/p>\n<p>Four talented young Irish artists had been chosen by the English rapper to share the stage, backed by a 10-piece band, after submitting performances via TikTok.<\/p>\n<p>First up was Donegal singer Rian McCauley, who is just 18 years old and has amassed 86,000 followers on TikTok. His folk and country-infused set got a huge reaction \u2013 particularly from the large Ballyshannon contingent in the pit who sang along to every word.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1788042615_776_.JPEG\"  alt=\"FullSizeRender\" class=\"alignnone inline-image\" \/><br \/>\n            Supporters of Rian McCauley in the crowd.\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t believe this,\u201d McCauley told the crowd.<\/p>\n<p>Next up was Imani Jade, lead singer of Belfast funk, soul and rock band Electric Voodoo, who danced across the stage weaving her spell with her incredible voice.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1788042616_204_.JPEG\"  alt=\"electric-picnic-festival-2026-day-two\" class=\"alignnone inline-image\" \/><br \/>\n            Youngiz, Rian McCauley, Mimi Lane, Tinie Tempah and Imani Jade performing &#8216;Written in the Stars&#8217;.
