Need something to make you feel a bit better about the fact that summer is basically over? Well, my friend, this is it: Vigil<\/a> will return to screens for a third season<\/a> very soon. Yay!<\/p>\n

The gripping crime series<\/a> \u2014 which follows military investigator DCI Amy Silva as she investigates mysterious deaths and high-level military conspiracies \u2014 returns to BBC for season three this weekend. When, I hear you ask? Episode one airs on BBC One at 9pm on Sunday 30 August. The six-part series will then roll out across three weeks, with two episodes a week (on Sundays and Mondays). You’ll also be able to stream the series on BBC iPlayer. <\/p>\n

As for what the third instalment of Vigil is about? According to a BBC<\/a> synopsis, season three will see DCI Silva (along with DI Kirsten Longacre) head to a remote Arctic research station, where a member of a covert British special forces mission has been murdered.<\/p>\n

The synopsis goes on: “Amy and Kirsten need to catch the killer and defuse a potential international confrontation, as different nations compete for control of the Arctic and its resources in the changing polar climate, with both their careers and relationship on the line.”<\/p>\n
