\n\tKATSEYE<\/a> is giving its loyal EYEKONS an update on Sophia Laforteza\u2019s status.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Sunday (Aug. 30), the international girl group took to social media to address whether its leader would appear at upcoming Wildworld Tour dates following the announcement of her hiatus in early August.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe would like to share an update regarding Sophia\u2019s upcoming schedule,\u201d KATSEYE wrote in a message on their Instagram Stories<\/a>. \u201cSophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe message, which was also posted on Weverse<\/a> and signed by HYBE and Geffen Records, went on to note that Sophia \u201cwill not be participating in the Wildworld Tour in Europe and the UK,\u201d scheduled for Sept. 1 through Sept. 7.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe sincerely ask for EYEKONS\u2019 warm understanding, as our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists,\u201d the note continued. \u201cWe will share further updates as they become available. Please continue to send your love, warmth, and support to Sophia and KATSEYE.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSophia\u2019s break from KATSEYE was announced<\/a> by HYBE x Geffen on Aug. 7, with the label confirming that she would temporarily step away from promotional activities to focus on her mental health and wellness. According to the company, Sophia had been receiving support and, following consultations with medical professionals, was advised to take an extended period of rest and ongoing care. Her condition was expected to be reassessed in September, according to the Los Angeles Times.<\/p>\n

\n\tLast week, Sophia\u2019s mother, actress Carla Guevara-Laforteza, offered a glimpse<\/a> into how her daughter is spending her time away from KATSEYE, noting that she has been keeping busy with decidedly more low-key activities while prioritizing her well-being.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAt present, Sophia is on hiatus,\u201d Guevara-Laforteza told Vogue Philippines. \u201cShe goes to Disneyland every day; she\u2019s baking, she\u2019s painting. She\u2019s literally doing everything to get mentally well.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSophia\u2019s hiatus came shortly after fellow KATSEYE member Manon also stepped away from group activities in February to focus on her health and well-being. The remaining members \u2014 Lara, Daniela, Yoonchae and Megan \u2014 have continued promoting the group\u2019s latest music, including a brief appearance<\/a> at Olivia Rodrigo\u2019s Daisy Chain Fields festival on Aug. 29.<\/p>\n

\n\tKATSEYE has emerged as a breakout global pop group, recently achieving its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with its EP WILD, which includes the Billboard Hot 100 tracks \u201cPinky Up\u201d and \u201cGnarly.\u201d<\/p>\n
