There\u2019s some brilliant detective work in Queen\u2019s medical centre, Nottingham. Claire has arrived in the unit after collapsing during a run. Given that one of the first sci-fi films was French (Georges M\u00e9li\u00e8s\u2019 A Trip to the Moon, 1902), it\u2019s a pity there have been so few great ones from the country since. But Luc Besson\u2019s hyperactive movie should be up for consideration. Bruce Willis plays a cabby in 23rd-century New York who finds himself in an end-of-days race against time when he meets the \u201cultimate warrior\u201d, Leeloo (Milla Jovovich), who was created to defeat an evil entity. Featuring costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier, it\u2019s got flair and wit to spare. Simon Wardell<\/p>\n
