\n\tElla Langley\u2019s \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d<\/a> has topped 20 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 \u2014 making it the longest run ever at the top of the chart for a non-holiday song.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe song passed Shaboozey\u2019s 2024 hit \u201cA Bar Song (Tipsy),\u201d and \u201cOld Town Road,\u201d by Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus, with which it was tied for a 19-week run \u2014\u00a0and if it holds on for three more weeks, it will pass Mariah Carey\u2019s \u201cAll I Want for Christmas Is You,\u201d which holds the record with 22 weeks over the past seven years.<\/p>\n

\n\tIf \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d manages to go the distance and somehow beat \u201cAll I Want for Christmas\u201d as the all-time leader in weeks at No. 1, it may be a short-lived victory, of course, since the Carey song has tended to go No. 1 for a few weeks every December in recent years. <\/p>\n

\n\tLangley\u2019s hit has been certified six-times platinum, with more likely to come. She swept all seven of her nominations at the 2026 ACM Awards, setting a\u00a0new record\u00a0for the most wins by an artist in a single year, including female artist of the year and song and single of the year for \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas.\u201d She followed that with two American Music Awards, for best female country artist and best country song. And the victory lap\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0over: \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas\u201d was just nominated for best country at the 2026 MTV VMAs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
