{"id":611218,"date":"2026-09-01T13:22:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-01T13:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/611218\/"},"modified":"2026-09-01T13:22:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-01T13:22:09","slug":"london-film-festival-sets-talks-with-andrew-scott-cynthia-erivo-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/611218\/","title":{"rendered":"London Film Festival Sets Talks With Andrew Scott, Cynthia Erivo, More"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe BFI <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/london-film-festival\/\" id=\"auto-tag_london-film-festival\" data-tag=\"london-film-festival\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">London Film Festival<\/a> has unveiled an impressive lineup of talent set to take part in screen talks at its upcoming 70th edition, including several stars who are already starting to appear on early awards contender lists. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThis year\u2019s roster includes <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/andrew-scott\/\" id=\"auto-tag_andrew-scott\" data-tag=\"andrew-scott\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Andrew Scott<\/a> (\u201cAll of Us Strangers,\u201d \u201cRipley\u201d), Ava DuVernay (\u201cSelma,\u201d \u201c13th\u201d), Brad Bird (\u201cThe Iron Giant,\u201d \u201cThe Incredibles\u201d), <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/cynthia-erivo\/\" id=\"auto-tag_cynthia-erivo\" data-tag=\"cynthia-erivo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cynthia Erivo<\/a> (\u201cHarriet,\u201d \u201cWicked\u201d), James Gray (\u201cWe Own the Night,\u201d \u201cAd Astra\u201d), <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/jesse-eisenberg\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jesse-eisenberg\" data-tag=\"jesse-eisenberg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jesse Eisenberg<\/a> (\u201cThe Social Network,\u201d \u201cA Real Pain\u201d), John Malkovich (\u201cPlaces in the Heart,\u201d \u201cIn the Line of Fire\u201d), Mahershala Ali (\u201cMoonlight,\u201d \u201cGreen Book\u201d), Naomi Ackie (\u201cI Wanna Dance with Somebody,\u201d \u201cBlink Twice\u201d), Sofia Coppola (\u201cThe Virgin Suicides,\u201d \u201cMarie Antoinette\u201d) and Danny Boyle (\u201cTrainspotting,\u201d \u201cSlumdog Millionaire\u201d).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tScott is already garnering early praise for his leading role as famed actor Ian Charleson in \u201cElsinore,\u201d which is opening the London Film Festival, as is John Malkovich for his turn as an aging CIA agent in \u201cWild Horse Nine.\u201d Boyle, meanwhile, directs Venice opener \u201cInk,\u201d while Eisenberg is already planning his return to London after \u201cA Real Pain\u201d to close the LFF with his latest stint as director, \u201cThe Debut.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tAll but one of the talks will be held in London, with Boyle\u2019s marking the first outside the capital, taking place at Home in Manchester. They\u2019ll also be available to view on BFI Player and BFI YouTube.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tThe LFF, which runs Oct 7 \u2014 Oct 18, as already unveiled its industry program, to be led by talks with acclaimed and award-winning producer Pippa Harris (\u201cHamnet,\u201d \u201c1917\u201d) and James Wilson (\u201cThe Zone of Interest,\u201d \u201cThe Voice of Hind Rajab\u201d), plus its main competition.
