Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay is to have a minor heart procedure after the discovery of “a mild benign arrhythmia”, Napoli have announced.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old was subsituted after 56 minutes of Sunday’s 2-1 Serie A defeat by Como and will have corrective treatment “in the coming days”.<\/p>\n

Napoli expect him to return to playing after the international break in early October and McTominay himself posted on Instagram: “See you soon Napoli. I won’t take long.”<\/p>\n

However, it means he is likely to miss Sebastien Pocognoli’s first four games as Scotland head coach, against Slovenia (home and away), North Macedonia and Switzerland in the Nations League.<\/p>\n

According to the NHS,, external<\/a> an arrhythmia is when the heart beats too quickly or too slowly, or the heartbeat is not steady. <\/p>\n
