Season 7 picks up in 1946, with World War II firmly in the rearview mirror and Skeldale House “once again full, and livelier than ever, as familiar faces reunite under one roof and look ahead to a hopeful new chapter”, according to the official series description.<\/p>\n
It continues: “James is excited about new developments in veterinary medicine, but a new vet in the area threatens the status quo.<\/p>\n
“The world at large may be changing, but inside this slice of Yorkshire, the Dales will always offer the same perfect escapism. Packed with warmth, humour and community spirit, the series brings more heartwarming tales of people and animals alike.”<\/p>\n
Returning cast includes Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot, Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall, Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot and Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon.<\/p>\n
Also reprising their roles are Patricia Hodge as Mrs Pumphrey, alongside her cherished Pekingese Tricki, Tony Pitts as Helen’s father Richard, Imogen Clawson as her sister Jenny, and local barmaid Maggie, played by Mollie Winnard.<\/p>\n

You can also expect to see Maimie McCoy as Dorothy, a friend of Mrs Hall’s and Siegfried’s love interest. McCoy first appeared in the show’s debut season before returning in the 2026 Christmas special, where she shared a kiss with Siegfried.<\/p>\n
“There’s lots that connects them, which I think is really lovely,” she told Radio Times<\/a> of their relationship.<\/p>\n Gaia Wise also returns as Charlotte, the “society beauty” and Tristan’s girlfriend. The pair professed their love<\/a> in last year’s festive episode, but Woodhouse has teased that all might not be well in the new run.<\/p>\n “It’s not really a massive spoiler to say I’m still with Charlotte Beauvoir, who is really good for him and helps him with his mental health,” he told Radio Times.<\/p>\n “She keeps him happy and I think he’s a little bit more content. But there’s only so long that that can last. So, things may be coming to change, but we don’t know.”<\/p>\n Add Radio Times as a Preferred Source on Google<\/a> Shaking things up is new vet Granville Bennett, a small animal specialist played by Caolan McCarthy, whose credits include Belfast and the RSC’s Cyrano de Bergerac.<\/p>\n He will be joined by a raft of new guest stars across the six new episodes.<\/p>\n 5 previously confirmed the drama for seasons 7 and 8<\/a>, plus further Christmas specials, describing it as “the jewel in 5’s drama crown”. The show remains 5’s most successful drama series to date, drawing more than 14 million individuals across its first five seasons.<\/p>\n In the United States, MASTERPIECE on PBS has confirmed the season will premiere on 17 January 2027.<\/p>\n All Creatures Great and Small season 7 will premiere on Thursday 17 September at 9pm on 5.
