One of the country\u2019s most celebrated singer-songwriters, Christy Moore<\/a>, has paid himself a dividend of over \u20ac660,000 from his entertainment firm.<\/p>\n

New accounts filed by Yellow Furze Ltd show that the business paid its 100 per cent shareholder, Moore, a dividend of \u20ac666,667 in the 12 months to the end of March this year.<\/p>\n

On the back of scores of sell out shows around Ireland, Yellow Furze recorded profits after tax of \u20ac480,856 this year which. That was down on a figure of \u20ac607,270 last year but in lines with the \u20ac465,214 recorded for fiscal 2024 and \u20ac460,635 for fiscal 2023.<\/p>\n

Offset by the dividend payout, the company\u2019s accumulated profits dipping to \u20ac2.99 million from \u20ac3.18 million. <\/p>\n

During the year, the company\u2019s cash in hand fell by \u20ac2.4 million to \u20ac2.35 million.<\/p>\n

The principal activity of the company is the sale of music performances and recordings by Moore. The business holds rights to his music which generate royalty income.<\/p>\n

On his own website, Moore \u2013 who celebrated his 81st birthday this year \u2013 noted that he and his crew had performed 43 gigs over the year. <\/p>\n

The performer \u2013 who has been entertaining audiences in Ireland and the UK across the past six decades \u2013 is best known for his \u2018Ride On\u2019 and \u2018I\u2019m An Ordinary Man\u2019 anthems.<\/p>\n
