(Image credit: CCTV)<\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-c6a2e9c8-a61d-11f1-ac2d-0f839b07c946\">&#8220;The rocket successfully entered its predetermined orbit,&#8221; the company <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/mp.weixin.qq.com\/s\/mIAV8gstTYg1QcQwPDDb7g\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/mp.weixin.qq.com\/s\/mIAV8gstTYg1QcQwPDDb7g\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">said via social media<\/a> on Monday about 30 minutes after liftoff (translation by Google). &#8220;This successful maiden flight marks Galactic Energy&#8217;s official entry into a new development stage of combining solid and liquid propellants, driven by a dual-engine approach.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-c6a2e9c8-a61d-11f1-ac2d-0f839b07c946-1\">The company \u2014 which also operates <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/china-galactic-energy-ceres-1-rocket-launch-failure\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/china-galactic-energy-ceres-1-rocket-launch-failure\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/china-galactic-energy-ceres-1-rocket-launch-failure\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ceres-1,<\/a> a small-satellite launcher with 23 flights under its belt to date \u2014 did not reveal what payloads, if any, Pallas-1 carried to orbit on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>            You may like<\/p>\n<p>The two-stage Pallas-1 stands 171 feet (52 meters) tall and can haul about 15,400 pounds (7,000 kilograms) to <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/low-earth-orbit\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/low-earth-orbit\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/low-earth-orbit\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">low Earth orbit<\/a>. It will be one of Galactic Energy&#8217;s &#8220;core models for the large-scale <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/24839-satellites.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/24839-satellites.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/24839-satellites.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">satellite<\/a> constellation deployment and launch market,&#8221; the company wrote in Monday&#8217;s update.<\/p>\n<p>Reuse is key to that vision. Like SpaceX&#8217;s workhorse <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18962-spacex-falcon-9.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18962-spacex-falcon-9.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/18962-spacex-falcon-9.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Falcon 9<\/a>, the Pallas-1 features a reusable first stage, which Galactic Energy says is designed to fly at 25 times. Also like the Falcon 9, the Pallas-1 booster will steer its way to <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/54-earth-history-composition-and-atmosphere.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/54-earth-history-composition-and-atmosphere.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/54-earth-history-composition-and-atmosphere.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Earth<\/a> with the aid of hypersonic &#8220;grid fins&#8221; and touch down on deployable landing legs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/vanilla.futurecdn.net\/space\/media\/img\/spc-logo-w.svg\" alt=\"Space\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"w-auto h-7 block w-auto mx-auto mb-4 h-[30px]\" data-component-name=\"Image\"\/><\/p>\n<p>There was no landing attempt on Monday&#8217;s debut flight, however. Galactic Energy is targeting the second half of 2027 for that milestone, <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/galactic-energys-pallas-1-rocket-reaches-orbit-on-debut-launch\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-url=\"https:\/\/spacenews.com\/galactic-energys-pallas-1-rocket-reaches-orbit-on-debut-launch\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">according to Space News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"elk-c6a2ea40-a61d-11f1-bc0a-770e45bd727f\">Pallas-1 won&#8217;t be the first Chinese rocket to land during an orbital mission. Two have already done so \u2014 the Long March 10B, whose first stage settled into a net carried by a ship at sea <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/making-history-china-lands-rocket-during-an-orbital-launch-for-1st-time-ever\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/making-history-china-lands-rocket-during-an-orbital-launch-for-1st-time-ever\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/making-history-china-lands-rocket-during-an-orbital-launch-for-1st-time-ever\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on July 10<\/a>, and Zhuque-3, which came down on landing legs <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/touchdown-private-chinese-rocket-aces-landing-on-2nd-ever-flight\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/touchdown-private-chinese-rocket-aces-landing-on-2nd-ever-flight\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/touchdown-private-chinese-rocket-aces-landing-on-2nd-ever-flight\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">on Aug. 18<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Long March rockets are built by the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, but Zhuque-3 was developed by the Beijing startup LandSpace. A number of other Chinese companies are working on partially reusable rockets as well, including CAS Space, Deep Blue Aerospace, iSpace, <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/chinas-record-breaking-gravity-1-rocket-launches-9-satellites-from-a-ship-at-sea-video\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/chinas-record-breaking-gravity-1-rocket-launches-9-satellites-from-a-ship-at-sea-video\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-article-category=\"space-exploration\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/space-exploration\/launches-spacecraft\/chinas-record-breaking-gravity-1-rocket-launches-9-satellites-from-a-ship-at-sea-video\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Orienspace<\/a> and Space Pioneer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Another reusable Chinese rocket has taken to the skies.
