Jon Peddie Research has released its second-quarter 2026 Market Watch report covering the global PC-based graphics processing unit market.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jon Peddie Research reports that the global PC-based graphics processing unit (GPU) market in Q2\u201926 grew to 75.5 million GPUs, an increase of 10.4% quarter to quarter and 1.1% year over year, while PC CPU shipments decreased -1.1% year over year. GPUs have an overall CAGR of -0.6% to 2029.<\/p>\n

Total desktop graphics decreased by -4% quarter to quarter, and notebooks increased by 16.8%.<\/p>\n

AMD\u2019s overall market share increased by 0.6% from last quarter, Intel\u2019s market share decreased by -1.0%, and Nvidia\u2019s market share increased by 0.46%.<\/p>\n

Year over year, total GPU shipments, including all platforms and all GPUs, increased by 1.1%, led by notebooks.<\/p>\n

As indicated in the following chart, AMD\u2019s shipments increased 0.6%, Intel\u2019s decreased by -1.0%, and Nvidia\u2019s increased 0.46% quarter over quarter.<\/p>\n

Overall, CPU unit shipments increased 10.10% from last quarter; AMD\u2019s CPU shipments increased 12.74%, and Intel\u2019s increased 8.99%.<\/p>\n

Total GPUs\u2019 attach rate (which includes integrated and discrete GPUs, desktops, notebooks, and workstations) to PCs for the quarter was 120% and increased 0.3% from the previous quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The first quarter is traditionally flat to down. This quarter\u2019s GPU shipments were up from the 10-year average of 6%.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe second quarter is typically down compared to the previous quarter,\u201d said Dr. Jon Peddie, president of Jon Peddie Research.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThis quarter, dGPUs increased by 12.2%, even while a global memory crisis sent component prices soaring, driven by a mix of supply-side positioning, artificial demand shocks, and localized market dynamics,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
