{"id":613494,"date":"2026-09-03T20:50:08","date_gmt":"2026-09-03T20:50:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/613494\/"},"modified":"2026-09-03T20:50:08","modified_gmt":"2026-09-03T20:50:08","slug":"amarillo-museum-of-art-to-host-opening-reception-hills-snyders-strays-this-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/613494\/","title":{"rendered":"Amarillo Museum of Art to host opening reception Hills Snyder\u2019s \u2018Strays\u2019 this month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text | article-text\">AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) &#8211; The Amarillo Museum of Art is selling tickets to its opening reception and gallery talks with two artists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amoa.org\/hills-snyder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.amoa.org\/hills-snyder\">Hills Snyder\u2019s \u201cStrays\u201d exhibit<\/a> features both one-off works and parts of specific bodies of work, including \u201cOde,\u201d \u201cA Little Known Fact About the Oregon Trail,\u201d and \u201cDouble Slit (I and I).\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Snyder was born in Lubbock, Texas. The museum says he was an integral part of the visual arts scene in San Antonio before moving to Magdalena, New Mexico. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The reception will take place Sept. 18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Cocktails and hors d\u2019oeuvres will be served at 6 p.m. by Ruthie at Black Fig Food. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">A gallery talk with artist Jack Craft is set for 6:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The gallery talk with Hills Snyder will follow at 7:15 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">AMoA Members can attend the opening reception for free.
