\n\tActress and producer Marta Pozzan will make her directorial debut with the dark comedy short \u201cDown to Die.\u201d<\/p>\n
\n\tThe film follows two friends, Maria (Pozzan) and Gabriel (Andrew Matarazzo), whose seemingly ordinary afternoon at an exclusive members-only club in East Los Angeles East spirals into a candid conversation about aging, ambition, identity and mortality.<\/p>\n
\n\tPozzan directs from her own script.<\/p>\n
\n\tAlongside Pozzan (\u201cFior Di Latte,\u201d \u201cFrom Scratch\u201d) and Matarazzo (\u201cTeen Wolf\u201d), the cast also includes Joe Apollonio (\u201cMagic Farm\u201d) as Reece, the club\u2019s ever-present membership curator whose interruptions are never quite accidental, and Lindsey Normington (\u201cAnora\u201d) as Noah, the effortlessly charming waitress who briefly cuts through the emotional tension with a grounded warmth.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe project explores themes of performative success, celebrity obsession and emotional detachment through rapid-fire dialogue and uncomfortable comedic tension.<\/p>\n
\n\t\u201cDown to Die\u201d\u00a0is produced alongside Kaley Ronayne, Nuer Taqa and Radiance Pictures, with cinematography by Ksusha Genenfeld, who previously shot\u00a0\u201cPerfect\u201d\u00a0with Julia Fox, editing by Sabrina Greco (\u201cLockjaw\u201d), and casting by Kate Geller (\u201cShiva Baby\u201d). <\/p>\n
\n\tPozzan has contributed to a range of independent productions over the past five years, with projects premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, the Stockholm Film Festival and the Belfast Film Festival, all while collaborating with award-recognized creative teams. She co-produced both \u201cFior Di Latte\u201d\u00a0starring Julia Fox, Tim Heidecker, and Kevin Kline alongside the producers of Josh and Benny Safdie\u2019s \u201cGood Time\u201d, as well as \u201cThe Dregs\u201d with Emmy nominee Nava Mau.<\/p>\n
