{"id":614126,"date":"2026-09-04T10:08:19","date_gmt":"2026-09-04T10:08:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/614126\/"},"modified":"2026-09-04T10:08:19","modified_gmt":"2026-09-04T10:08:19","slug":"winners-revealed-2026-think-brick-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/614126\/","title":{"rendered":"Winners revealed: 2026 Think Brick Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The winners of the 2026 Think Brick Awards have been announced from more than 150 Australian architectural submissions, with an adaptive reuse project in east Melbourne and a Sydney sports pavilion claiming top honours.<\/p>\n<p>The annual program celebrates design that challenges convention around the possibilities of building with brick, block, pavers and roof tiles. This year\u2019s theme, \u201cRe:form\u201d, invited entrants to consider the materials, places and resources beyond each building.<\/p>\n<p>According to the communique, \u201cThe strongest projects placed masonry at the heart of their design ambition, demonstrating that innovation does not always mean doing more \u2014 but often doing less with greater intention.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of this year\u2019s projects demonstrated how thoughtful design can transform existing places, use materials with greater purpose and create lasting value,\u201d the communique noted.<\/p>\n<p>Head juror Kim Crestani reflected, \u201cThe role of the designer is not simply to use materials, but to listen to them, understand them and reveal new possibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crestani was joined on the jury by Michael Christensen (m3architecture), Connie Argyrou (Architectus), Eva-Marie Prineas (Studio Prineas) and Think Brick Australia CEO Cathy Inglis AM.<\/p>\n<p>The winners are:<\/p>\n<p>Horbury Hunt Commercial Award <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/architectureau.com\/articles\/247-latelab-by-kosloff-architecture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">24\/7 Latelab<\/a> \u2013 Kosloff Architecture (Krause Bricks)<\/p>\n<p>High Commendations<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/architectureau.com\/articles\/Beyond-the-game-sporting-pavilions-for-people-and-place\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Willowdale Sports Pavilion<\/a> \u2013 Sam Crawford Architecture (PGH Bricks and Pavers, Austral Bricks)<\/p>\n<p>The Canopy Cafe \u2013 Blight Rayner (Austral
