{"id":615189,"date":"2026-09-05T09:58:09","date_gmt":"2026-09-05T09:58:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/615189\/"},"modified":"2026-09-05T09:58:09","modified_gmt":"2026-09-05T09:58:09","slug":"teenage-boy-on-e-bike-dies-in-hit-and-run-in-co-clare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/615189\/","title":{"rendered":"Teenage boy on e-bike dies in hit-and-run in Co Clare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A teenage boy has died following a hit-and-run incident in Co Clare last night.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after 11pm, garda\u00ed and emergency found a boy, aged in his mid teens, who had been on an e-bike, unresponsive by the roadside on the L3050 at Cottage Cross near Clonlara.<\/p>\n<p>He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>A second vehicle involved in the incident failed to remain at the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The scene has been preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are currently in place.<\/p>\n<p>The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.<\/p>\n<p>Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.<\/p>\n<p>Road users who were in the Clonlara area at the time and may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating garda\u00ed.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information is urged to contact Henry Steet Garda Station on (061) 212400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A teenage boy has died following a hit-and-run incident in Co Clare last night.
