Winner of the Australian category. | Photo by Jake Wilton <\/p>\n<p>The Underwater Awards Australasia has announced the winners of the third edition of the photo competition that focuses on marine photographers in Oceania. <\/p>\n<p>In total, there were nine categories for underwater photographers to enter, with prizes amounting to 70,000 Australian dollars ($50,000). <\/p>\n<p>The overall winner of the competition \u2014 the \u201cBest of Show\u201d \u2014 is Kat dos Remedios, whose <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reels\/Dauljfuy-Ei\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">short film<\/a> \u2018Dragon\u2019 takes the top spot in the Reels Showcase category. <\/p>\n<p>The other category winners are Annika Dahlberg (Conservation), Talia Greis (Sydney), Jake Wilton (Australian), Simone Caprodossi (International Waters), Giacomo Marchione (Portfolio), Enrico Somogyi (Smartphone\/Action Cam), Qian Kun (Tough TG), and Tom Healy (Only Water).<\/p>\n<p> <img src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/1st-Gold-415421783432918_Qian_Kun-Tough-TG-800x533.jpg\" alt=\"A bright orange clownfish with a white vertical stripe rests within the tentacles of a tan sea anemone underwater.\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" class=\"size-large wp-image-872322\"   loading=\"lazy\" fetchpriority=\"low\" decoding=\"async\"\/>The photographer\u2019s dive boat looms in the background as this clownfish glowers at the camera. The show featured an exhibition of high-quality metal prints of the finalist entries in the photo categories.<\/p>\n<p>The competition is organized by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.divephotoguide.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">DivePhotoGuide (DPG)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.underwater.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Underwater Australasia<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uwimages.com.au\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">UW Images<\/a>.
