The second season of Celebrity Traitors<\/a> is on its way \u2013 and it sounds like it could be a rather different outing to the show’s first hit season.<\/p>\n

During a live edition of The Rest Is Entertainment podcast at London\u2019s Southbank Centre on Saturday, hosts Richard Osman and Marina Hyde were joined by season 1 finalist Joe Marler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Osman revealed that from speaking to some of those involved in the second season of Celebrity Traitors<\/a>, it “was quite intense” to film.<\/p>\n

Marler appeared to confirm the sentiment, adding (per The Guardian<\/a>): “I believe it was a slightly different emotion than our experience. Ours was very laugh-led, and everyone was sort of enjoying catching up, you know, pratting about to the point where they went, \u2018Guys we\u2019re trying to play a game.\u2019<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s not just for the laughs, \u2018Oh do you remember going to that party darling?\u2019 Whereas this lot really want it from the start. I guess they see how well the first series has gone and there\u2019s a little bit of pressure on them to be like, \u2018Oh I\u2019d quite like a bit of that.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Marler and Osman’s comments follow on from the BBC’s director of entertainment Ed Havard, who previously teased on a panel at the Edinburgh TV Festival 2026: “Things happen that you didn’t think could happen on Traitors and have never seen before.”<\/p>\n

The first season concluded its run with an incredible 15 million viewers<\/a>, which saw the biggest on demand audience of any series across the market at seven days since records began.<\/p>\n

So, while the second season has some pretty hefty boots to fill, anticipation for the new episodes are at an all-time high \u2013 especially with the help of a star-studded cast.<\/p>\n

Joining presenter Claudia Winkleman in The Traitors castle this year are Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, James Acaster, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Joe Lycett, Julie Hesmondhalgh, King Kenny, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Maya Jama, Michael Sheen, Miranda Hart, Myha\u2019la, Professor Hannah Fry, Richard E Grant, Rob Beckett, Romesh Ranganathan, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft and Sharon Rooney.<\/p>\n
