Another Traitor found themselves in serious trouble as The Traitors Ireland returned to Slane Castle, while a chaotic encounter with some decidedly uncooperative sheep offered a brief break from the tension.<\/p>\n

By the end of the night, the Faithfuls had reason to celebrate, but Siobh\u00e1n McSweeney still had one more twist in store.<\/p>\n

Here are six key moments from episode four.<\/p>\n

\nAll smiles as suspicion mounts The Traitors Ireland<\/p>\n

Saoirse’s murder puts Aoife under scrutiny<\/p>\n

Breakfast brought confirmation that Saoirse had become the Traitors\u2019 latest murder victim.<\/p>\n

Almost immediately, attention turned to Aoife.<\/p>\n

Several players questioned why she appeared less upset by Saoirse\u2019s departure than she had been following Se\u00e1n A\u2019s banishment the previous night.<\/p>\n

The issue followed her to the Round Table, where DJ floated a theory that Aoife could have been recruited as a Traitor and then deliberately murdered someone close to her, believing nobody would expect it.<\/p>\n

Carla also admitted the contrast in Aoife\u2019s reactions had stood out to her.<\/p>\n

Aoife pushed back, questioning what sort of response people expected after she had known Saoirse for only a few days.<\/p>\n

She also made a fair point: if she were a Traitor, why murder someone who trusted her?<\/p>\n

Donal remains in the frame<\/p>\n

The intense scrutiny Donal faced in the previous episode eased somewhat, but suspicions around the Leitrim teacher have not gone away.<\/p>\n

Diego told Denis that he believed Donal could be a Traitor, with Denis agreeing that he still had questions about him.<\/p>\n

Aoife also admitted at the Round Table that she remained “fixated” on Donal, although she struggled to put her finger on exactly what was bothering her.<\/p>\n

This time, however, the room did not follow.<\/p>\n

As the vote swung heavily in another direction, Aoife stuck with her instincts and wrote down Donal\u2019s name.<\/p>\n

For now, he remains firmly in the mix.<\/p>\n

Sheep, shields and a row over immunity<\/p>\n

The day\u2019s mission tested the players\u2019 communication and observation skills as they tried to identify individual sheep from descriptions of their markings.<\/p>\n

It sounded straightforward.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

References to Dalmatians, zebras, spots and stripes flew around the field as the players discovered just how difficult it is to distinguish one sheep from another at speed.<\/p>\n

They eventually added \u20ac2,000 to the prize pot, taking the total to \u20ac12,900, before being offered the chance to compete for a shield.<\/p>\n

That was when things became less playful.<\/p>\n

With Fionula already under suspicion, Denis objected to her getting a chance to compete for immunity, arguing that one of the main names likely to come up for banishment should not be able to make herself safe.<\/p>\n

Fionula later confronted him.<\/p>\n

She said she could accept Denis believing she was a Traitor, but questioned “who made you the lord and master” when it came to deciding whether she should be allowed to play for the shield.<\/p>\n

David ultimately won immunity and was delighted to do so, having gone into breakfast convinced he was “a goner”.<\/p>\n

The case against Fionula builds<\/p>\n

By the time the players returned to the castle, Fionula\u2019s name was being discussed in several different conversations.<\/p>\n

Se\u00e1n C had built an extensive case against her, while Sam had also been quietly watching her.<\/p>\n

\nFionula sang her swan song on Sunday’s episode<\/p>\n

Fionula challenged Sam over his behaviour following the coffin mission, only for him to reveal that she had been high on his own list of suspects from the start.<\/p>\n

Sam said he preferred to hold his questions until the Round Table, hoping to “catch you on the hop” rather than give a suspected Traitor time to prepare.<\/p>\n

Not everybody was convinced.<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e1inne felt much of what others were reading as suspicious was simply Fionula\u2019s personality, while Aoife remained adamant that she did not believe she was a Traitor.<\/p>\n

But the pressure was clearly building.<\/p>\n

Fionula\u2019s game unravels<\/p>\n

Fionula tried to turn the spotlight onto Sam at the Round Table, but the questions kept coming back in her direction.<\/p>\n

Sam challenged her behaviour after the Traitors were first selected and following Se\u00e1n A\u2019s banishment.<\/p>\n

Anna questioned her body language, while Denis said sitting beside her at previous Round Tables had made him notice how tense she appeared.<\/p>\n

Ian then focused on her voting record.<\/p>\n

Fionula had previously said she was convinced Se\u00e1n A was a Faithful and had repeatedly raised DJ as a suspect, yet ultimately voted to banish Se\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

When Fionula suggested she might be being used by the Traitors, Janet pressed her to explain exactly how.<\/p>\n

The argument failed to shift the room.<\/p>\n

Even Carla and P\u00e1raic K voted for their fellow Traitor once it became clear she was unlikely to survive the vote.<\/p>\n

After receiving the most votes, Fionula stood before the group and revealed that she had been a Traitor from the moment Siobh\u00e1n placed her hand on her shoulder on the opening night.<\/p>\n

The Faithfuls erupted.<\/p>\n

They have now caught two Traitors in three Round Tables.<\/p>\n

Six players are sent to death row<\/p>\n

Back in the Conclave, Carla and P\u00e1raic K were left to process the loss of one of their own.<\/p>\n

“I feel like a b****,” P\u00e1raic admitted.<\/p>\n

Carla believed Fionula understood why they had voted against her and noted that she had left without firing a parting shot in their direction.<\/p>\n

Then Siobh\u00e1n arrived with another twist.<\/p>\n

There would be no murder that night.<\/p>\n

Instead, Carla and P\u00e1raic were ordered to place three pairs, six players in total, on “death row”.<\/p>\n

At the next mission, the group will have a chance to save one pair before one of the remaining four is murdered.<\/p>\n

P\u00e1raic immediately considered putting himself in danger as part of an elaborate bluff.<\/p>\n

Or, as he put it: “Bluff, bluff, double bluff, double bluff.”<\/p>\n
