Fifth roundtable, four Traitors out.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would take another 400 seasons for that to happen again,\u201d S\u00e9an C chirps, after doing some quick maths on his slate.<\/p>\n

This is the level of confidence and mental freedom this group of Faithfuls have. They\u2019re literally doing maths on their slates at roundtables.<\/p>\n

\u201cWho we getting tomorrow, lads?\u201d he exclaims, his head jerking over to Carla.<\/p>\n

Yes, that\u2019s right. Carla chose Aoife as her scapegoat, and Aoife promptly threw her right under the bus in return.<\/p>\n

But let\u2019s go back a bit.<\/p>\n

On Monday night\u2019s episode, Carla gave Aoife a choice: be murdered now, or become a Traitor.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just have to get through tomorrow\u2019s roundtable,\u201d Aoife said.<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t think she, Carla or the Wolfhounds think she has a chance in hell of that. But sure, look. At least she gets to murder someone.<\/p>\n

She picks Denis. His partner Diego plays it cool at breakfast, while Denis is crying to camera.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am happy that I went first, because this is how I\u2019d have been if he went,\u201d he laughs.<\/p>\n

\"TuesdayTuesday night’s mission proved particularly treacherous <\/p>\n

A TREACHEROUS MISSION<\/p>\n

We suppose running through wooded areas is generally hazardous, but we don\u2019t think the production team could have imagined just how hazardous it would prove to be.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s mission, Carla hurts her leg, Anna is out on medical advice after popping her hip while running in Monday\u2019s mission, and Gr\u00e1inne twists her ankle, resulting in her leaving The Traitors altogether.<\/p>\n

In an attempt to add an extra bit of spice, Siobh\u00e1n later reveals to the players that Gr\u00e1inne\u2019s status \u2014 Faithful or Traitor \u2014 will not be revealed until the game is over.<\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not the only drama.<\/p>\n

While adding \u20ac2,900 out of a possible \u20ac3,000 to the prize pot \u2014 go team! \u2014 DJ finds a shield.<\/p>\n

On the advice of fellow team member Pete, the team, also made up of Kayleigh and D\u00f3nal, decide not to tell the others who got the shield, thus protecting all four of them from murder.<\/p>\n

\u201cKayleigh has a big pocket, give it to her,\u201d Pete directs a reluctant DJ.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe won\u2019t give it back to me,\u201d he whines. \u201cShe will,\u201d Pete insists.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, giving it back isn\u2019t really the issue…<\/p>\n

The issue is that, after telling everyone else they weren\u2019t revealing who got the shield, Kayleigh then pulls it out of her pocket in a room with half the remaining players, including S\u00e9an C, Pauric O and Sam.<\/p>\n

Donal drops his head into his hands.<\/p>\n

\"DonalDonal is at a loss after Kayleigh reveals the shield to the room<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, dad David is not happy about not being informed who got the shield.<\/p>\n

This immediately, and quite logically, raises suspicions among his fellow Faithfuls. Only a Traitor would need to know who got the shield… and with the Faithfuls believing Aoife is the remaining OG Traitor, their sights are now set on who might have been recruited to keep the game going as their numbers rapidly deplete.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A PARTING GIFT<\/p>\n

Now, back to Aoife and her parting gift to the Faithfuls.<\/p>\n

Yes, the Faithfuls turned on her almost from the start, but she quite rightly has no loyalty to the Traitor who recruited her with the express intention of immediately throwing her under the bus.<\/p>\n

So she decides to do the same.<\/p>\n

\u201cI raised my suspicions in the car with Janet,\u201d Aoife tells Tuesday night\u2019s roundtable.<\/p>\n

Earlier that day, she had indeed told Janet she suspected a Traitor might be setting her up. She didn\u2019t know who, but suspected it was a fellow female. Perhaps Kayleigh or… Carla.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis might be a shot in the dark,\u201d she states, before revealing the name on her board: Carla.<\/p>\n

When she stands at the top of the room, she gives the Faithfuls another nugget, if they are listening.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to touch on last night. I put on something a little bit cosier…\u201d The room erupts as she reveals her Traitor status.<\/p>\n

But will they pick up on the hint that she was in fact only recruited the night prior \u2014 and that the real mastermind is still at large? And if they do catch Carla, can her latest recruit actually make this show interesting again?<\/p>\n
