He reports to Gene Romano, Executive Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBen\u2019s broad background in rock makes him a perfect fit,\u201d Romano said. \u201cHe\u2019s always curious and creative on how to keep up with listener\u2019s always evolving tastes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marcotte brings more than 14 years of experience with iHeartMedia to the new role. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Programming for Indianapolis and St. Louis. His previous programming stops include classic rock \u201cQ95\u201d and \u201cIndy 103.3\u201d WOLT in Indianapolis \u2013 where he also served as PD and afternoon host \u2013 along with \u201c96.5 Jack-FM\u201d KJAQ and \u201cAlt 102.9\u201d KKRZ-HD2 in Seattle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis felt like one of those opportunities you don\u2019t overthink,\u201d Marcotte said. \u201cTwo legendary stations, incredible teams, and a chance to do great radio in San Diego.
