An Offaly farmer has been forced to pay a tax settlement of more than \u20ac160,000 to Revenue.<\/p>\n
Michael Corrigan of Knockbarron, Kinnitty, Birr, Co Offaly, paid a total settlement of \u20ac161,208 to Revenue for the non-declaration of capital acquisition tax.<\/p>\n
The tax Mr Corrigan owed the state totalled \u20ac114,659, with interest of a further \u20ac15,279 and penalties of \u20ac31,270 added.<\/p>\n
The Offaly farmer\u2019s settlement was released as part of Revenue\u2019s list of tax defaulters for the period 1 April 2026 to 30 June 2026, published on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Animal bedding and feed supplier Foulkstown Feeds Limited, Outrath, Waterford Road, Co Kilkenny, also paid a tax settlement of \u20ac98,966 for the under-declaration of corporation tax.<\/p>\n
The fine included \u20ac13,356 in interest and \u20ac19,755 in penalties.<\/p>\n
The total number of tax defaulter settlements with Revenue during the three-month period was 20.<\/p>\n
The value of these 20 settlements added up to \u20ac11.6m.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Donegal farmer Francis McGee, Mullanacross, Laghey, was fined \u20ac2,500 by Revenue for his failure to hold a current mineral oil licence. <\/p>\n
A total of 17 people received fines of \u20ac2,500-\u20ac3,500 for the misuse of marked mineral oil or green diesel.<\/p>\n
Donegal saw the highest rate of such offences, with three of the 17 tax defaulters having an address in the county.<\/p>\n
Egan Haulage & Agri Ltd, Castlecrine, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare, was fined \u20ac13,750 over eight charges for the company\u2019s failure to lodge vat returns.<\/p>\n
A steel fabricator, Stainless Design & Fabrication Ltd, with company director Sandra Read and based in Roscrea, Co Tipperary, was also fined \u20ac1,250 for its failure to lodge a corporation tax return.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"An Offaly farmer has been forced to pay a tax settlement of more than \u20ac160,000 to Revenue.
